Emily Eliza Scott’s in-depth examination of Desert X 2021, which I participated last year, is now published in Art Journal Open. Like all of Emily’s deeply considered essays focused on the American desert this piece illuminates an array of timely issues related to Land Art, land politics, but most importantly settler colonialism in the context of contemporary art and landscape. I’m very honored to have such an important critical voice discuss Jackrabbit Homestead alongside Nicholas Galanin’s Indianland DX21 installation and the work of Gerald Clarke.
